Many of us have more important things to do besides going back to our business or personal webpages to update them. You took so much time, in the beginning, making that thing look perfect. Shouldn’t it last forever? I hate to tell you this, but it won’t. While there really isn’t a set amount of time that people should follow between creating and revamping a website, there are a few things you might want to consider when deciding if you should or should not get it done.

Content

If you created a website two years ago, it’s probably in need of content updates. Hopefully, you have been updating the important stuff such as phone numbers and addresses along with other important factors that have changed over time but if you haven’t, it’s definitely time to freshen it up. You may even want to update the “About You” section. Talk about what you’ve been up to, especially your successes. Add or replace links. Put in some accolades and share your journey. People go to your website for the most up to date information, if it isn’t there, people aren’t likely to keep coming back.

Outdated

Have you gone on websites to find them tedious to maneuver because the platform is antiquated? What if that was your website? It’s possible that the website platform you are using is old and you either need to upgrade or move on to a different one altogether. This, of course, will take some work, but you want your website to look good to others and display your message in an appealing way.

Feedback

The most understandable reason for updating or revamping your site might actually come from someone else. If ratings drop and say things like “website needs to be updated” or “webpage wasn’t user friendly” it’s probably a good idea to give it a makeover.

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the running of your business and living your life, but if you have the desire to keep and maintain a webpage, it’s important that it has the most up to date content with a user-friendly interface that isn’t glitching with outdated code. Always keep your information current but take the time to consider if you need to do more. This site is a representation of you and it’s important to always look your best.
